DAY 1: Nairobi to Tsavo East – Scenic Drive and First Game Drive
Meals: Lunch, Dinner | Stay: Voi Safari Lodge

Your safari begins with an early pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. After a warm safari briefing, set off in a private 4x4 Land Cruiser toward Tsavo East National Park, Kenya’s oldest and one of its most dramatic Parks.

The journey offers glimpses into Kenya’s countryside life, with views of rolling hills and rural villages. You’ll arrive at Voi Safari Lodge in time for lunch. Built into a cliff face, the lodge offers panoramic views and direct access to a busy waterhole below-perfect for observing elephants and other wildlife from your balcony.

In the afternoon, venture into the park for your first game drive. Tsavo East is known for its vast open plains, red-elephant herds, lions, giraffes, and over 500 bird species. Keep your camera ready-this is one of the most rewarding areas for photography safaris in Kenya.

Return to the lodge for dinner and enjoy the peaceful ambiance as animals gather at the floodlit waterhole below.

DAY 2: Tsavo East – Full Day Game Viewing
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner | Stay: Voi Safari Lodge

Wake up to the sounds of the wild and enjoy a hearty breakfast with sunrise views over the savannah. Today is dedicated to discovering the diversity of Tsavo East.

Explore deeper into the park with your expert guide. Visit key spots such as the Aruba Dam, a favorite gathering place for elephants, zebras, and buffalo. Scan the horizon for cheetahs resting on termite mounds or leopards tucked into riverine thickets. You may also encounter hippos and crocodiles along the Galana River.

Depending on your preference, enjoy a picnic lunch in the park or return to the lodge to rest and recharge. The late afternoon offers another game drive-perfect for catching predators on the move or soaking in the golden hues of the African landscape.

After sunset, return to Voi Safari Lodge for dinner. The waterhole often comes alive at night, offering you front-row views of nocturnal wildlife activity-a highlight of your Kenya safari experience.

DAY 3: Tsavo East to Nairobi –  Return Journey
Meals: Breakfast | Optional: Day Room and Meals in Nairobi

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast as you take in your final views of the African bush. Before exiting the park, you may enjoy a short morning game drive for one last encounter with Tsavo’s iconic wildlife.

Begin your return drive to Nairobi, retracing your route through the scenic Athi plains and Taita hills. Arrive in the city by afternoon. If you have a later flight, you can opt for a day room and lunch at a Nairobi hotel (additional cost).

Your 3-day safari ends with unforgettable memories of red elephants, dramatic landscapes, and authentic wildlife encounters-a perfect taste of African safari magic and a highlight of your Kenya safari itinerary.
