Day 1: Nairobi – Fly to Samburu National Reserve

You will be transferred to Wilson Airport, Nairobi, this is where your safari adventure begins. You will board a scenic flight over Kenya’s vast plains towards the rugged landscapes of Samburu National Reserve. On arrival, a warm welcome awaits from your lodge guide followed by a short game drive en route to your lodge/camp. (The short game-drive depends with your arrival time)
After a delicious lunch and brief relaxation, head out for your first game drive. Samburu is famous for its unique northern species — the “Samburu Special Five”: Grevy’s Zebra, reticulated Giraffe, Beisa Oryx, Somali Ostrich, and Gerenuk.

Return to the lodge for a sundowner overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River, followed by dinner under the stars.

Day 2: Full Day in Samburu National Reserve
Spend the day exploring the dramatic Samburu landscape — arid hills, riverine forests, and open savannahs teeming with wildlife. Early morning and late afternoon drives offer the best sightings of Elephants, Lions, Leopards, and even Wild Dogs.

For frequent travelers, opt for a guided bush walk or a visit to a Samburu cultural village to experience the traditional lifestyle and colourful customs of the Samburu people.
Enjoy a relaxed evening by the campfire as you listen to the distant calls of the wild.

Day 3: Samburu – Fly to Maasai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, enjoy a short morning game drive(optional) en route to the airstrip for your flight to Maasai Mara, Kenya’s most iconic wildlife destination. On arrival, you’ll be transferred to your lodge/camp with a brief game drive along the way.
After lunch, venture out for your first Maasai Mara game drive. The reserve is famous for its high density of wildlife, including all members of the Big Five — Lions, Elephants, Leopards Buffalo, and Rhino.
Depending with the season of your arrival, you will be able to witness the Great Migration of the Wildebeest and Bird watching.
After a tiresome day, return to your camp for dinner and overnight, surrounded by the enchanting sounds of the African bush.

 Day 4: Full Day in Maasai Mara
Rise early for a thrilling sunrise game drive — this is when predators are most active. Watch the savannah come alive with herds of plains game, elephants, and giraffes bathed in golden light.

For repeat visitors: Consider a hot air balloon safari (optional, extra cost) followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush — an unforgettable way to experience the Mara from above.
After lunch, you may visit a Maasai village for a taste of local culture, or simply enjoy an afternoon siesta before heading out for your final evening game drive.
As the sun sets, toast to your safari with a sundowner overlooking the Mara plains.

Day 5: Maasai Mara – Fly Back to Nairobi
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your camp, with time for one last short game drive or bush walk(optional). Later, transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Wilson Airport, Nairobi.
On arrival, you’ll be met by our Rhino Tours representative who will assist you with your onward transfer or departure arrangements.
